Title 13 › Chapter 5— CENSUSES › Subchapter IV— INTERIM CURRENT DATA › § 183
The Secretary must send the most recent population data published under this title to the President so federal departments and agencies can use it when they decide how much money states, counties, or local governments get based on population. If a federal law says only data from the most recent 10-year census can be used, this rule does not apply to that law.
