Title 13 › Chapter 10— EXCHANGE OF CENSUS INFORMATION › § 401
The Census Bureau must share business data it collects with the Bureau of Economic Analysis when the Secretary of Commerce decides those records will help improve the data used under the International Investment and Trade in Services Survey Act. Only information the Census got directly from respondents can be sent. The person asking for the data must make the request in writing and must say the data will be used only for statistical work to improve those surveys. "Business enterprise" and "United States" are defined in section 3 of the International Investment and Trade in Services Survey Act.
