§1905 Coast Guard Academy Minority Outreach Team Program

Summary

Creates a minority outreach team program at the Coast Guard Academy. Academy graduate officers — including minority officers and those from U.S. territories and possessions — may volunteer to recruit minority students and mentor cadets to help keep them in school. By January 1, 2021, the Commandant must hire a permanent civilian to run the program. That person must manage the program, help volunteers and partners, advise Academy leaders using volunteer input, set goals and measurements with volunteers and leaders, and file an annual report to the Commandant on the program’s academic-year results before each school year ends.
