§2521 Advisory Board on Women in the Coast Guard

Summary

The Commandant must create an Advisory Board on Women in the Coast Guard. The Commandant will pick as many members as he thinks fit from people who apply, using a public selection process. The board should reflect the Coast Guard’s diversity and must have equal numbers from four groups: active duty officers, active duty enlisted members, Reserve members, and retired members. The board will advise the Commandant on recruiting, keeping, supporting, and helping women do well in the Coast Guard and at the Coast Guard Academy. It can send written recommendations to carry out its advice and may brief Congress about its advice and recommendations.
