Title 14 › Subtitle SUBTITLE II— PERSONNEL › Chapter 29— COAST GUARD FAMILY SUPPORT, CHILD CARE, AND HOUSING › Subchapter II— COAST GUARD CHILD CARE › § 2923
The Commandant must make each Coast Guard child development center follow rules that protect the health, safety, and well‑being of the children and staff and meet the requirements needed for national early childhood program accreditation. Each center must be inspected without warning at least twice a year. Of those two inspections, one must be done by someone from the local Coast Guard installation and one by someone from the Coast Guard child development services work‑life programs. The Commandant must keep and share a way for people to report concerns about a Coast Guard child development center or a family home daycare. People can report suspected violations of the standards or other laws, suspected child abuse or neglect, or any other problems. Reporters may stay anonymous if they want. The Commandant must also set up procedures to investigate those reports.
