§5116 Status of Overdue Reports

Summary

The Commandant must send a report to the House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure and the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation no later than 60 days after this law is passed and then every year by March 1. The report covers any reports or briefings required under this chapter that the Coast Guard has not given to Congress. The report must say which required reports or briefings are missing, when each was due, and how many days each is late. It must include a detailed plan and schedule for finishing them. It must list the federal officials who wrote, reviewed, edited, and approved each item (with their name, job, agency, role, and how long they have been responsible after receiving it), and it must name the flag officer responsible for completing each report or briefing.
