Names which Coast Guard missions count under section 210G(k)(3)(C)(iv) of the Homeland Security Act of 2002. It covers missions to protect places and things judged to be high-risk targets for illegal drones. That includes facilities (even those run by the Commandant) and vessels or aircraft, whether tied up or underway, that the Coast Guard operates, assists, or escorts. It covers missions such as helping or escorting Department of Defense ships; protecting vessels of national security significance, high-interest or high-capacity passenger ships, or other high-value units (as the Secretary defines them); missions under section 527(a) of this title; protecting the President or Vice President under the Presidential Protection Assistance Act of 1976 (18 U.S.C. 3056 note); National Special Security Events; U.S. air defense (including air sovereignty, ground-based defense, and the National Capital Region system); and search and rescue. It also covers missions the Secretary directs under section 210G(k)(3)(C)(iii) of the Homeland Security Act of 2002.
