§1141g Right of Priority for Request for Extension of Protection to the United States

Summary

If you own an international registration, you can claim an earlier priority date in the United States under Article 4 of the Paris Convention when two things are true. First, your request to extend protection to the U.S. must say you are claiming priority. Second, the international registration date or the date the U.S. records your extension request must be no later than 6 months after your first regular national filing or a later related application under Article 4.
