Lists what certain words mean for this chapter. It explains who or what is covered by those words. A "person" is an individual, partnership, corporation, or association. "China" covers mainland China (including Manchuria, Tibet, Mongolia, and any territory China has leased to another country), the Crown Colony of Hong Kong, and the Province of Macao. A "China Trade Act corporation" or "corporation" is a company created under this chapter. "Federal district court" means any U.S. district court, including the United States District Court for the District of Columbia. "Secretary" means the Secretary of Commerce. "Registrar" means the China Trade Act registrar appointed under section 143.
