The Bureau must collect, publish, and share annual percentage rates for common nonsale credit in selected standard metropolitan statistical areas as a demonstration. It may require creditors in those areas to give the information needed. The Bureau must also gather credit card price and availability data twice a year, including the items listed in section 1637(c). The sample must include the 25 largest card issuers and at least 125 other institutions chosen for geographic balance and variety. Those institutions must report as the Bureau requires. The Bureau must make the data public on request, report it to Congress every six months, and may hire others or provide funding to help.
