Title 15 › Chapter 50— CONSUMER PRODUCT WARRANTIES › § 2303
Warranties written for consumer products must be clearly labeled as either a "full" warranty (and state how long it lasts) if they meet the federal minimum rules, or a "limited" warranty if they do not. The Federal Trade Commission can make rules saying when those labels are not needed. General statements about customer satisfaction are not covered. The labeling rules only apply to warranties on consumer products that cost the buyer more than $10 and that are not already called full warranties.
