§2653 Epa Study of Asbestos-containing Material in Public Buildings

Summary

Within 360 days after October 22, 1986, the EPA Administrator must finish a study and send the results to Congress. The study must say how common asbestos is in public and commercial buildings; describe the condition of asbestos in commercial buildings and whether people inside, including service and maintenance workers, might breathe fibers; consider if these buildings should follow the same inspection and response rules as schools; check if current federal rules protect the public and cleanup workers during renovation and demolition; and recommend whether standards and rules are needed to limit asbestos exposure in these buildings.
