Title 15 › Chapter 7— NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF STANDARDS AND TECHNOLOGY › § 278b
Allows the Institute to use the Working Capital Fund created by the Act of June 29, 1950 (64 Stat. 275). Money in the fund can pay for activities the chapter allows and for things covered by appropriations that repay the fund. The fund may pay or be repaid for car rentals, consultants, and travel to meetings as allowed under Department of Commerce appropriations. It can get advances and reimbursements, including payments from non-Federal sources, for services under section 273. The word "cost" includes direct expenses and proper indirect and administrative charges. Any net income the fund earns at the end of each fiscal year must go into the Treasury’s general fund, except that income can first be used to fix past losses and to keep enough working capital to replace equipment and inventories.
