Title 15 › Chapter 7— NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF STANDARDS AND TECHNOLOGY › § 278i
The Director must keep the Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee and the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee fully up to date on the Institute's activities. For any fee or fee-policy change for standard reference materials or calibration services after June 30, 1987, the Director must give Congress a written justification saying how demand and revenue will be affected and wait until 30 days on which both Houses of Congress are in session have passed before the change takes effect, unless the change only reflects raw material or production and delivery cost changes.
