§290b Collection, Compilation, Critical Evaluation, Publication and Dissemination of Standard Reference Data

Summary

Collect, organize, check, publish, and share standard reference data. The Secretary must do this or arrange for others to do it. When doing the work, the Secretary should, as much as possible, use the data services and facilities of other federal, state, and local governments and private groups, with their permission, and avoid repeating work. Other federal agencies are asked to help. This does not cancel or reduce any agency’s current powers or duties.
