Title 15 › Chapter 63— TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION › § 3708
The Secretary and the National Science Foundation must keep getting advice and cooperating with federal departments and agencies that help or are affected by these programs. They must work with others to create a research and policy agenda. Agencies and federal labs — for example, Defense, Energy, Education, Health and Human Services, Housing and Urban Development, EPA, NASA, the Small Business Administration, and White House policy offices — should, within their budgets, help or take part in these projects. These agencies can join, support, or give money and other help to the Centers and related activities. The Secretary and the National Science Foundation must also give each other a chance to comment on any proposed program under sections 3705, 3707, 3710, 3710d, 3711a, or 3712 before money is spent, so they can coordinate efforts and avoid doing the same work twice.
