§3711b Conference on Advanced Automotive Technologies

Summary

Within 180 days after December 18, 1991, the Secretary of Commerce, through the Under Secretary for Technology and after consulting other officials, must hold a conference of U.S. motor vehicle manufacturers, parts suppliers, Federal labs, and vehicle users. The group must look for ways to work together to make U.S. vehicles more competitive by developing technologies that improve safety, save energy, and reduce environmental harm. The conference results must be published and sent to the President and to the House Committees on Science, Space, and Technology and Public Works and Transportation and to the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation.
