Title 15 › Chapter 78— SUPERCONDUCTIVITY AND COMPETITIVENESS › § 5209
All federal departments and agencies must carry out technology transfer work that fits their missions to help commercialize high-temperature superconductors. They must speed up the creation of manufacturing and processing methods needed to bring these superconductors to market, and they must encourage partnerships and consortia of industry — including small businesses — and, where useful, universities and independent research groups to lower barriers to using advanced high-temperature superconductor technology. The Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy, working with the Secretary of Commerce and the Secretary of Energy, must identify federal policies and rules that keep private companies from making long-term investments to commercialize superconductivity applications.
