Title 15 › Chapter 85— ARMORED CAR INDUSTRY RECIPROCITY › § 5902
An armored car crew member can use a weapons license from the state where they mainly work only if the state agency that issued it follows certain minimum rules and the worker also meets any other state job requirements. For a first-time license, the agency must confirm the worker got classroom and range training this year for each weapon from a qualified instructor, and that a current-year criminal background check shows no federal bar to having a weapon. For renewals, the agency must confirm ongoing training and that federal law would not be violated. Licenses may last up to 2 years, or up to 5 years for states that had a 5-year rule before October 1, 1996.
