Title 15 › Chapter 93— INSURANCE › Subchapter IV— RENTAL CAR AGENCY INSURANCE ACTIVITIES › § 6781
For three years starting on November 12, 1999, it is assumed that state law does not require a license, appointment, or training for people who offer or sell insurance that comes with a motor vehicle lease or rental. That rule only applies to rentals of 90 consecutive days or less, and to insurance that lasts no longer than the rental. It does not change any state law, future court decisions about state law, or any final state rules, orders, or bulletins. The term "motor vehicle" has the meaning given in 49 U.S.C. 13102.
