Title 15 › CHAPTER 2 — FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION; PROMOTION OF EXPORT TRADE AND PREVENTION OF UNFAIR METHODS OF COMPETITION › SUBCHAPTER III — LABELING OF WOOL PRODUCTS › § 68d
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) must enforce the rules about wool products. The FTC can use its normal powers, procedures, and penalties under the Federal Trade Commission Act as if those rules were part of this law. The agency can make rules about how fiber information is shown and separated on wool products, inspect and test those products, and work with other government agencies or people. Makers of wool products must keep accurate records of the fiber content for everything they make and keep those records for at least three years. If a maker fails to do this, they must pay $100 for each day they do not keep the records. The United States can collect that money in a civil lawsuit.
