§6906 Matching Requirements

Summary

Federal money under this chapter must be matched by non‑federal money at a rate of at least 50 percent of each dollar the Administration provides. In other words, for every $1 from the Administration, a recipient must put in at least $0.50 from other sources. Fees, grants, gifts, loan funds, and in‑kind contributions from public or private sources can count as the matching money. If an applicant has severe trouble finding matching funds, the Administrator can reduce or waive the match, but no more than 10 percent of the Administration’s total funds for carrying out this chapter in any fiscal year may be given out without the required match.
