The chapter defines key words used for women’s business programs. Administration means the Small Business Administration. Administrator means the head of that agency. Control means having the power to make a business’s main policy decisions. Council means the National Women’s Business Council. Interagency Committee means the Interagency Committee on Women’s Business Enterprise. Operate means running the business day-to-day. Women’s business enterprise means a business owned by, started by, or developed by a woman or group of women. Women-owned business means a small business that women control, run, and own at least 51 percent.
