§782 Petrochemical Report to Congress

Summary

Within ninety days after starting the job, the Administrator or acting Administrator must send Congress a written report. The Administrator will get help from the Department of Commerce, the Cost of Living Council, and the U.S. International Trade Commission. The report must explain how current petrochemical prices affect export levels now and what exports are expected in 1975; how current and expected 1975 exports affect the raw materials and products available to petrochemical producers, converters, and fabricators; how imports contribute to domestic supplies now and in 1975; the likely economic effects of current and expected 1975 domestic supplies on those businesses; and exactly what data and sources the federal government has and used. Petrochemical means organic chemicals; cyclic intermediates; plastics and resins; synthetic fibers; elastomers; organic dyes and pigments; detergents and surface active agents; carbon black; and ammonia.
