Records filed with the Commission under this part must be open to the public. The Commission can make rules or issue orders to keep specific filings private if making them public is not needed or would harm the public interest or investors. Except as provided in section 78x(c), Commission members, officers, and employees may not use non-public information from those filings for personal gain or give it to anyone except a U.S. or State official for official use. Anyone may get copies of public filings. The Commission will set reasonable charges and limits for providing those copies.
