Block machine — equipment that uses vibration and compaction to make concrete masonry products. Board — the Concrete Masonry Products Board. Cavity — the mold opening on a block machine that makes one unit measuring 8 inches by 16 inches. Concrete masonry products — a group that includes concrete masonry units and hardscape items like pavers and segmental retaining-wall units made on a block machine with dry-cast concrete. Concrete masonry unit — a manmade masonry unit at least 3 inches wide, made from dry-cast concrete on a block machine; includes concrete block and similar units. Conflict of interest — when a Board member or employee has a direct or indirect financial or other interest in someone who does work for or contracts with the Board. Department/Secretary — the Department of Commerce and its Secretary. Dry-cast concrete — a stiff mix of aggregate, cement-like materials, and water that keeps its shape after forming. Education, promotion, research — programs, advertising, and studies to teach, improve, and sell concrete masonry products. Machine cavities and machine cavities in operation — the cavities a block machine can have, and those that have made units within the last 6 months and are fully operable. Manufacturer — anyone who makes commercial concrete masonry products in the United States. Masonry unit — a noncombustible building piece meant to be set by hand or joined with mortar, grout, surface bonding, post-tensioning, or combinations. Order — an order issued under this chapter. Person — any individual or business or other entity. United States — the several States and the District of Columbia.
