§9711 Gap Analysis on Availability of Snow-related Data to Assess and Predict Flood and Flood Impacts

Summary

The Administrator must work with the Department of Agriculture, the Department of the Interior, and the Army Corps of Engineers to find where snow-related data are missing for assessing and predicting floods. The review must cover six kinds of snow data, such as snow water equivalent, depth, temperature, precipitation type, melt, and the rain–snow line. No later than 180 days after December 27, 2022, the Administrator must send a report with the findings and ideas for more federal cooperation to the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation and the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology.
