Title 16 › Chapter 18— WATERSHED PROTECTION AND FLOOD PREVENTION › § 1009
The Army and Agriculture Secretaries must study watersheds in the United States, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands and send joint reports with recommended flood‑prevention and water‑management projects to Congress through the President when the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee or the House Public Works and Transportation Committee adopts a resolution. This does not affect the project authorization procedure in Public Law 566, Eighty‑third Congress, as amended (16 U.S.C. 1001 et seq.).
