Title 16 › Chapter 1— NATIONAL PARKS, MILITARY PARKS, MONUMENTS, AND SEASHORES › Subchapter XII— MESA VERDE NATIONAL PARK › § 117
The United States takes sole legal control of Mesa Verde National Park. Colorado can still serve legal papers or bring charges for things that started outside the park, tax people, companies, franchises, and property on park land, and people living in the park now or after April 25, 1928 keep the right to vote in county elections. U.S. laws for federal lands apply in the park, and fugitives hiding there are treated the same as fugitives in Colorado.
