§160g Designation by Secretary of Recreational Fishing Zones; Consultation with Appropriate State Agency; Continuation of Seining of Fish to Secure Eggs for Propagation

Summary

The Secretary must allow recreational fishing on lands and waters he controls inside the park, as long as people follow United States and Minnesota laws. The Secretary can set places or times when fishing is not allowed for safety, park management, fish and wildlife needs, or to protect public use and enjoyment. Except in emergencies, the Secretary must consult the proper Minnesota agency before putting those rules into effect. At Shoepac Lake, Minnesota may continue using nets to catch fish to collect eggs for propagation. That work must follow a plan both the State and the Secretary accept.
