Title 16 › Chapter 1— NATIONAL PARKS, MILITARY PARKS, MONUMENTS, AND SEASHORES › Subchapter XX— GLACIER NATIONAL PARK › § 170
Hunting, killing, wounding, or capturing any bird or wild animal is not allowed inside the park, unless an animal is dangerous and must be killed to stop it from hurting or killing people. Fish may only be taken by hook and line. Fish may also only be caught at the seasons, times, and in the ways the Secretary of the Interior sets. The Secretary of the Interior must make and publish rules to run and protect the park, including rules to protect timber, certain mineral deposits (except those legally located before May 11, 1910), natural features, and the park’s animals and birds. Having a dead wild animal or any part of one in the park is treated as evidence you broke the rules. Anyone who knowingly transports illegally taken animals, birds, or fish, or who breaks the rules or damages park property (buildings, fences, trees, plants, springs, minerals except those located before May 11, 1910, natural features, or other park things) is guilty of a misdemeanor. They can be fined up to $500, jailed up to six months, or both, and must pay the costs of the case.
