Title 16 › Chapter 37— YOUTH CONSERVATION CORPS AND PUBLIC LANDS CORPS › Subchapter II— PUBLIC LANDS CORPS › § 1727b
Creates the Indian Youth Service Corps inside the Public Lands Corps. It enrolls people ages 16 through 30 (and veterans 35 or younger), with a majority of participants being Indian. The program must be set up by an agreement between an Indian tribe and a qualified youth or conservation corps to benefit tribe members and to do conservation projects on eligible service land. The Secretary of the Interior may make cooperative agreements with tribes and corps to run the program. The Secretary must issue management guidelines within 18 months after March 12, 2019, after consulting with Indian tribes and following this subchapter and other federal laws.
