The Secretary of the Interior may get land or land rights by gift, with donated money, by purchase using Federal funds, or by other means to build an eastern approach to the park. The land is in the Sixth Principal Meridian, Township 5 North, Range 73 West. It includes parts of Sections 27, 34, and 35 totaling approximately one hundred and forty‑five acres, plus a strip along the Thompson River not to exceed an average of five hundred feet in width and running for one and six‑tenths miles from near the center of Section 25 to that tract.
