The United States accepts ownership of the lands described in the deed that was in the Secretary of War’s possession on July 17, 1916. The deed, signed April 11, 1916 by the Lincoln Farm Association, covers land near Hodgenville, Larue County, Kentucky, including Abraham Lincoln’s birth cabin and the memorial hall that surrounds it. The land and buildings must be kept forever as a national park or reservation. The United States must protect them from damage or decay and may never charge an admission fee.
