Title 16 › Chapter 1— NATIONAL PARKS, MILITARY PARKS, MONUMENTS, AND SEASHORES › Subchapter XXVII— OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK › § 251f
The Secretary of the Interior must, within 30 days after October 21, 1976, meet with the Governor of Washington, the Clallam County Board of Commissioners, and affected landowners to draw a boundary around all of Lake Ozette’s shoreline, including private aquatic land that was outside the park on October 21, 1976. The boundary must be at least 200 feet back from the ordinary high-water mark, and private land included may not exceed 1,500 acres. Within 180 days after October 21, 1976, and after giving written notice to the Senate and House Committees on Interior and Insular Affairs, the Secretary must publish the detailed boundary in the Federal Register. Once published, the Secretary can update the official park map on file under section 251e, and the updated map will have the same legal effect as if it were in sections 251e to 251m.
