Title 16 › Chapter 1— NATIONAL PARKS, MILITARY PARKS, MONUMENTS, AND SEASHORES › Subchapter XXVII— OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK › § 256b
Hunting, killing, wounding, or capturing any wild bird or animal inside the park is not allowed, except when a dangerous animal must be dealt with to protect people from death or injury. Fish may not be taken out of park waters unless the Secretary of the Interior sets the seasons, times, and methods. The Secretary of the Interior must make and publish rules to manage and protect the park, its plants, rocks, minerals, famous natural features, and the animals and birds. Having a dead wild bird or animal, or any part of one, in your possession inside the park is strong evidence you broke the rules. People or transport companies who know or have reason to believe the wildlife was taken illegally and who accept it for transport are also responsible. Anyone who breaks these rules or damages park property (like buildings, fences, trees, gardens, springs, mineral deposits, or other park things) is guilty of a class B misdemeanor under title 18.
