To carry out the national policy in section 320101 of title 54 and to help protect and explain Alaska’s important cultural and archaeological sites and objects tied to prehistoric and historic human use of Alaska’s lands and waters, the Secretary may, when a Native Corporation or Native Group applies, offer advice, help, and technical support. The help can be given whether or not the United States owns the items and can include sending staff to help plan, design, and run public buildings and displays and to train people to find, recover, preserve, show, and manage cultural resources.
