§3334 Review of State Program by Secretary

Summary

The Secretary must keep checking the State program to make sure it follows this chapter and other law. Those checks must include an audit of the program’s records every two years. If the Secretary finds the program or its administration is not following the rules, the Secretary must reduce or stop program funds or take other appropriate action. If money given to the State, or money from selling fishing or charter vessels bought under the program, is not being used as required, the Secretary must recover that money and place it in the United States Treasury.
