Title 16 › Chapter 1— NATIONAL PARKS, MILITARY PARKS, MONUMENTS, AND SEASHORES › Subchapter XL— HOT SPRINGS NATIONAL PARK › § 362
The Secretary of the Interior can lease bathhouses and bathhouse sites in Hot Springs National Park for up to 20 years. Rent must be at least $30 per tub each year. Rent is paid in advance every quarter at the Government superintendent’s office in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The same water charge applies to everyone getting water, whether they are inside or outside the park. Hot water must be supplied first to (in this order) the Army and Navy hospital bathhouse, the public bathhouse, the bathhouses allowed in the park, the Arlington Hotel, and the bathhouses outside the park that were allowed on or before March 3, 1891. If there is extra hot water after those uses, the Secretary may let other bathhouses, hotels, and families outside the park have it under rules he sets. Those places must pay to make their own connections. Water given to hotels or families for things other than bathing will cost a reasonable price set by the Secretary. Every five years the Secretary must review and adjust lease terms and payments, but never below the stated minimum.
