The Secretary of the Interior may transfer certain lands inside the Great Smoky Mountains National Park to the State of Tennessee. These include approximately 28 acres along Tennessee State Route 72 (U.S. 129) and approximately 41 acres along Tennessee State Route 73 east of Gatlinburg. The Secretary can set any conditions he thinks are needed to protect the natural beauty of the nearby park land.
