Under the 1916 Park Service Act and the Interior Secretary's direction, the National Park Service must manage, protect, and develop the park. The Federal Power Act does not apply. A minimum of 20,000 acres must be kept for Mammoth Cave National Park, and major development may not start until the Secretary accepts most remaining land, including all caves, and sets fees.
