When ownership of all privately owned lands on Isle Royale and nearby islands that the Secretary of the Interior names is transferred to the United States and Michigan gives the U.S. exclusive control, the area becomes Isle Royale National Park for the public’s use and enjoyment. The United States may not buy these lands with federal money; they must be given by public or private donation.
