The Secretary may get land inside the park by gift, by buying it with donated or government funds, or by swapping other property. Land owned by the State of Louisiana and some specifically listed buildings can only be acquired by gift or swap, and any land covered by cooperative agreements can be acquired only if the owner agrees.
