§410cc–25 Administrative Functions

Summary

The Secretary, through the National Park Service, must carry out the park management plan made under section 410cc–21(b) as much as possible. The park must be run under the laws and rules that apply to the national park system. Before the Commission’s first meeting, the Secretary may give emergency help to owners of properties with national historic or cultural importance to protect those properties. Subject to sections 410cc–24 and 410cc–32(b), the Secretary must make available to the Commission any funds appropriated under section 410cc–13(a)(2) for carrying out part C of this subchapter. The Secretary may accept donations of money, property, or services from private or public groups to help implement the plan. The Secretary may also sponsor or work with others to offer educational or cultural programs in the park and preservation district. The Secretary may acquire leases on park property when needed to carry out this subchapter.
