Title 16 › CHAPTER 1 — NATIONAL PARKS, MILITARY PARKS, MONUMENTS, AND SEASHORES › SUBCHAPTER LIX–CCC — NEW RIVER GORGE NATIONAL PARK AND PRESERVE › § 410eeee–6
The Secretary must allow hunting and fishing on lands and waters he manages inside the New River Gorge National River, following federal and state laws. He can set areas and times when hunting or fishing are not allowed for safety, park management, wildlife needs, or visitor use. Before new rules take effect, he must consult the state agency that handles hunting and fishing, except in emergencies. West Virginia may stock fish in the river waters after consulting the Secretary. Nothing here changes West Virginia’s authority over fish and wildlife.
