§410ff–7 Expenditure of Federal Funds for Research, Resources Management, and Visitor Protection and Use on Private Property; Transfer of Funds; Authorization of Appropriations

Summary

The Secretary may spend federal money to work with The Nature Conservancy and other private landowners for research, managing natural resources, and protecting and guiding visitors. Money that was authorized for the Channel Islands National Monument is transferred to Channel Islands National Park. Effective October 1, 1980, Congress may appropriate whatever sums are needed, but development funds may not exceed $500,000, and $30,100,000 from the Land and Water Conservation Fund is authorized for land acquisition. Any amounts authorized but not appropriated in a fiscal year remain available in later years.
