Title 16 › Chapter 1— NATIONAL PARKS, MILITARY PARKS, MONUMENTS, AND SEASHORES › Subchapter LIX–GG— CEDAR CREEK AND BELLE GROVE NATIONAL HISTORICAL PARK › § 410iii
Create the Cedar Creek and Belle Grove National Historical Park to protect and explain a nationally important Civil War landscape and an antebellum plantation so people today and in the future can learn from them. The park will tell Shenandoah Valley history from early settlement through the Civil War, explain the Battle of Cedar Creek, protect important historic and natural places by working with local owners and the community, and serve as a center to interpret key Shenandoah Valley battles, including Thomas J. (Stonewall) Jackson’s 1862 campaign and the decisive 1864 campaigns.
