The President can, by proclamation, set aside federal land as the Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial. That includes the memorial itself, its approaches, walls, buildings, and other property on South Bass Island in Put‑in‑Bay Township, Ottawa County, Ohio. The site is meant to preserve its history, teach the importance of international peace through arbitration and disarmament, and be for the public’s benefit and enjoyment. The area contains fourteen and twenty‑five one‑hundredths acres (14.25 acres). It lies at East Point on South Bass Island near the intersection of Delaware and Chapman Avenues and along the Lake Erie shore, and includes parts of lots numbered 1, 2, and 12.
