§459g–2 Establishment; Notice in Federal Register; Copies to Congress

Summary

When the United States owns enough land and land rights to make a manageable unit for the seashore, the Secretary must establish the seashore by publishing a notice in the Federal Register. The notice must include a more detailed map or description of the seashore boundaries that tries to match the area described in section 459g, and copies of that map or description must be sent to the Speaker of the House and the President of the Senate not less than thirty days before publication. After the seashore is established, the Secretary may buy the rest of the lands and land interests inside those boundaries, but only under the limits and rules set out in sections 459g through 459g–7 and section 459g–1.
