Title 16 › Chapter 1— NATIONAL PARKS, MILITARY PARKS, MONUMENTS, AND SEASHORES › Subchapter LXIII— NATIONAL SEASHORE RECREATIONAL AREAS › § 459j–8
Authorizes money to carry out the seashore project, but limits land purchases to no more than $7,941,000. The Secretary must try to buy privately owned lands quickly to avoid higher costs. Until all the land is bought, the Secretary must send a written report each June 30 to the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources and the House Committee on Natural Resources saying how much land was bought this year and what it cost, how much remains, and what land is planned for purchase next fiscal year with estimated cost. Also authorizes an additional $2.6 million for developing essential public facilities, beyond prior funding.
